The first step of the program is a comprehensive Athlete Performance Audit, designed to build a complete picture of you as both an athlete and an individual.
Bella will conduct an in-depth assessment of your current health, training demands, lifestyle, body composition and nutrition habits. This includes reviewing food intake and timing, training load, recovery strategies, sleep quality, stress levels, injury history, medical status and supplement use. We also assess current training requirements, body composition, alongside overall wellbeing, performance capacity and injury risk.
Equally important, we explore your sporting background, current competition or training phase, personal values and performance goals. A detailed discussion around common challenges faced by active women - such as fluctuating energy levels, changes in body composition, recovery concerns, menstrual cycle disruptions, mood or sleep disturbances - helps guide a truly individualised approach.
This process ensures Bella has a clear understanding of your baseline health, current demands, any existing medical considerations or intolerances, and the factors influencing both performance and recovery. From here, a targeted nutrition and supplement strategy is developed to support training adaptation, optimise body composition, reduce injury risk and enhance long-term performance - in collaboration with coaches and medical practitioners where appropriate.
Using insights from your Athlete Performance Audit, Bella will develop a fully individualised meal and supplement plan aligned with your training demands, competition schedule and lifestyle.
Your nutrition strategy is tailored to support performance, recovery and body composition, with specific consideration given to fuel timing around training and games, adequate energy availability, muscle repair, bone health and immune function. The plan adapts to your training phase (in-season, pre-season, off-season or rehab), ensuring your intake evolves as your workload changes.
Meal plans are practical, flexible and realistic - built around foods you enjoy, your cooking skills, cultural preferences and time constraints. Guidance includes portion sizing, macronutrient distribution, hydration strategies and game-day fuelling, so you feel confident knowing what to eat, when to eat and why it matters.
Supplement recommendations are evidence-based and personalised, targeting performance, recovery and injury risk reduction where appropriate. This includes reviewing current supplements for safety and effectiveness, and only introducing additions that are necessary, batch-tested and appropriate for your sport.
This step ensures your nutrition works with your training - not against it - providing a clear, structured yet adaptable approach that supports consistency, confidence and long-term performance.
The next step focuses on making your nutrition strategy work in the real world - around training, competition, work, family and social commitments.
Youโll receive practical coaching to integrate your meal and supplement plan into daily routines, including support with meal prep, eating on the go, travel and competition weekends. Strategies are tailored to shift work, variable training schedules and the unpredictability that comes with team sport and hybrid training.
This step also emphasises building skills and confidence around food. Youโll learn how to adjust intake based on training load, recognise early signs of under-fuelling, manage appetite fluctuations and make informed choices in social settings - without rigid rules or unnecessary restriction.
Ongoing check-ins allow your Dietitian to refine your plan as your training demands, goals or life circumstances change. This ensures your nutrition continues to support performance, recovery and long-term health, not just in the short term but across seasons and training cycles.
The goal is autonomy - equipping you with the knowledge and tools to fuel consistently, adapt confidently and perform at your best, even when life isnโt perfectly structured!
The final phase focuses on long-term consistency and strategic adjustments across the season to ensure your nutrition continues to match your training and competition demands.
Your nutrition plan can be periodised to align with key season phases: pre-season, in-season, finals, off-season and injury or rehabilitation periods. Adjustments are made to energy intake, macronutrient distribution, fuelling strategies and supplements as training loads, recovery needs and performance goals shift.
Regular reviews allow Bella to monitor body composition, performance markers, recovery, injury risk and overall wellbeing, making proactive changes before issues such as low energy availability, fatigue or recurrent injury arise.
This step ensures your nutrition supports not only peak performance when it matters most, but also sustainable habits, health and resilience across multiple seasons. The focus is on maintenance without stagnation - providing ongoing structure, accountability and expert guidance so you can adapt, recover and perform season after season.
